Summary

The ultimate hustle is to move freely between the street and corporate worlds, to find your flow and never stay locked in the same position。 This is a manifesto for how to operate in the twenty-first century, where everything has been turned on its head。 Building on the runaway success of Robert Greene's The 48 Laws of Power (almost five million copies sold), the 'modern Machiavelli' teams up with rapper 50 Cent to show how the power game of success can be played to your advantage。 Drawing on the lore of gangsters, hustlers, and hip-hop artists, as well as 50 Cent's business and artistic dealings, the authors present the 'Laws of 50', revealing how to become a master strategist and supreme realist。 Success comes from seeking an advantage in each and every encounter, and The 50th Law offers indispensable advice on how to win in business - and in life。

Try "The 48 Laws of Power" first。 It I will re-read。 Though this one does have its moments。 Try "The 48 Laws of Power" first。 It I will re-read。 Though this one does have its moments。 。。。more

I had high hopes for a book about a man as interesting as 50 Cent。 Unfortunately, this was a poorly written self-help book branded with his name。 The anecdotal material and information about Fiddy’s life could have been condensed down to about 20 pages。 The co-author states that he had unfettered access to Fiddy for a year when researching this book。 The fact that this is the product he created with such exclusive and incredible resources is astoundingly disappointing。

Boy heckins。 This was a doozy。 The Independent called this 'the hip hop entrepreneur book', but its not。 In fact, I doubt they even read THE 50th LAW because the only entrepreneurship in this book is how to be a massive drug dealer。 And how to blag your way into the music industry with exclusively a violent nature, intimidation and repeating yourself。 Because man, there is a lot of repetition here。 Mainly the story of being discovered by Eminem and being shot nine times。 Yawn。 When you think the Boy heckins。 This was a doozy。 The Independent called this 'the hip hop entrepreneur book', but its not。 In fact, I doubt they even read THE 50th LAW because the only entrepreneurship in this book is how to be a massive drug dealer。 And how to blag your way into the music industry with exclusively a violent nature, intimidation and repeating yourself。 Because man, there is a lot of repetition here。 Mainly the story of being discovered by Eminem and being shot nine times。 Yawn。 When you think they are just lightly glossing over that, No。。。 It's not only a HOW TO DRUG DEAL 101, its a major author (business and motivational guru, Robert Greene) telling you the best tools and techniques of hustling on the streets like 'Fifty' distributing crack to every day life and to be equally as successful。 It's a lot of fawning and borderline encouragement of illegal behaviour, then comparing the rap star to countless visionaries, thinkers and leaders that shaped history。 To be fair, it's all a load of harmless well meaning bollocks though。 Parts are completely inane and the sort of thing you would recite to a coma patient。 In reality, 50 Cent hasn't been anything in the way of any success for many years now。 At least in the music industry in the ten years since this was written。 I'm assuming he's peddling some sort of alcohol like everyone else at the moment。 I would look up what, but I can't be bothered。 Do we need a book mixing some of the most popular and powerful pieces of advice ever published with the ethos and processes of running a crack den? I think not。 。。。more

Robert Greene simply does not disappoint。 I was shocked to hear him and 50 cent worked together on a book。 Not expecting much but entering with an open mind, per the instructions early on in the book, truly helped。 50 Cent really is something else。 His early life struggles and rise to the top are demonstrated throughout each chapter in this book。 Although the beginning of each chapter was somewhat redundant, the layout makes sense。At the end of the day, nothing can be as empowering when deciding Robert Greene simply does not disappoint。 I was shocked to hear him and 50 cent worked together on a book。 Not expecting much but entering with an open mind, per the instructions early on in the book, truly helped。 50 Cent really is something else。 His early life struggles and rise to the top are demonstrated throughout each chapter in this book。 Although the beginning of each chapter was somewhat redundant, the layout makes sense。At the end of the day, nothing can be as empowering when deciding to "nihil timendum est" aka fear nothing。 。。。more

A MUST-READ BOOK IF YOU HAVE ''FAILURE TO LAUNCH'' SYNDROME。 Excellently written alongside with very valid stories and thematic historical figures。 I read his ''48 Laws of Power'' two years ago, at the start of high school - hated it。 This book, however, made me rethink my bias against Robert Greene, and spilled an idea of giving Greene's classic another try。 A MUST-READ BOOK IF YOU HAVE ''FAILURE TO LAUNCH'' SYNDROME。 Excellently written alongside with very valid stories and thematic historical figures。 I read his ''48 Laws of Power'' two years ago, at the start of high school - hated it。 This book, however, made me rethink my bias against Robert Greene, and spilled an idea of giving Greene's classic another try。 。。。more

Great information。 I love this book I plan to buy it, re-read, and take several more in-depth notes。Points that I liked the best: *great phrase used - Turn shit into sugar*mental, emotional, social, and cultural flow *respect the process of mastery: learning requires a process, patience and ability to endure drudge work (this is one of the biggest things I need to work on) *bet on yourself *always be willing to walk away (common sense but I don't think I apply this as often as I should) Great information。 I love this book I plan to buy it, re-read, and take several more in-depth notes。Points that I liked the best: *great phrase used - Turn shit into sugar*mental, emotional, social, and cultural flow *respect the process of mastery: learning requires a process, patience and ability to endure drudge work (this is one of the biggest things I need to work on) *bet on yourself *always be willing to walk away (common sense but I don't think I apply this as often as I should) 。。。more

This book is life-changing, mind-awakening, and I should say that this book is eye-opening。 It is impressive for the fact that not only would 50 Cent and Robert Greene could teach history through this book, while they can teach us what we can learn and apply from the historical figures in our lives。50 Cent and Robert Greene taught about facing reality, being fearless, knowing when to be bad, being an authority in your life, and the importance of mastery while you bring realistic strategies in an This book is life-changing, mind-awakening, and I should say that this book is eye-opening。 It is impressive for the fact that not only would 50 Cent and Robert Greene could teach history through this book, while they can teach us what we can learn and apply from the historical figures in our lives。50 Cent and Robert Greene taught about facing reality, being fearless, knowing when to be bad, being an authority in your life, and the importance of mastery while you bring realistic strategies in anything。 This book is a must-read for fans of 50 Cent, or to say, young mankind who want to find their own flow and never stay locked in the same position。 。。。more

It is a valuable life lesson from 50Cent。He uses a lot of examples from of our history and i was hopping for more of life events from 50Cent。The author tends to focus on a particularly part of his life。Overall, it is a good book and that i recommend!

Just as other my other Robert Greene reads always insightful and great tuning to others experiences perceptions and narratives。 I never realized how ruthless survival can make a leader which primes as like any of us a great freedom in our future。

。。。more

This is a double-edged sword for me。 I don't like drugs, and Curtis Jackson was a drug dealer。 Once I got over that detail, though, He is a master businessman。 His near-death experience made him less afraid of death, more willing to take risks, and he blossomed as a shrewd business owner。 It is a harrowing and yet insightful story。 The business lessons were very similar to standard lessons, but with a drug-dealer's edge! This book was more interesting than I anticipated。 It discusses fear in modern society and intelligent ways of harnessing it instead of letting it destroy your life。 It encourages awareness of the world that is in our proximity and to face reality instead of running away from it。 My favorite take was that regardless of the cultural phenomenon going on in the culture you're in, it's your responsibility to address things properly at a personal level。 Anyone that encourages objectivity and realism This book was more interesting than I anticipated。 It discusses fear in modern society and intelligent ways of harnessing it instead of letting it destroy your life。 It encourages awareness of the world that is in our proximity and to face reality instead of running away from it。 My favorite take was that regardless of the cultural phenomenon going on in the culture you're in, it's your responsibility to address things properly at a personal level。 Anyone that encourages objectivity and realism is on the right path in my eyes and the collaboration for this book was very fascinating。 。。。more

I had the audiobook lying around for years。 Then just played a random track - turned out to be about "forced isolation and repeated labor", that would be called "boring" from other people。 I'm in a point where I drifted from my labors to pleasures outside of myself。 I know I will find this book very helpful。 I had the audiobook lying around for years。 Then just played a random track - turned out to be about "forced isolation and repeated labor", that would be called "boring" from other people。 I'm in a point where I drifted from my labors to pleasures outside of myself。 I know I will find this book very helpful。 。。。more

I was reluctant to read this book。 Seemed like an attention-grabbing commercial product designed to make some money off of a rapper's fame。 I'm relieved to tell you that my reluctance was entirely unnecessary。 50 cent is in this book but their project was carried out 90-95% through Robert's style, research, and writing。 Greene has delivered once again。 It is my only regret that I have no more Robert's books to read。 I hope that he's working on something as I write these words。 I was reluctant to read this book。 Seemed like an attention-grabbing commercial product designed to make some money off of a rapper's fame。 I'm relieved to tell you that my reluctance was entirely unnecessary。 50 cent is in this book but their project was carried out 90-95% through Robert's style, research, and writing。 Greene has delivered once again。 It is my only regret that I have no more Robert's books to read。 I hope that he's working on something as I write these words。 。。。more

Well, like many will or have said, the title 'by 50 cent' is a bit misleading。 Yes, Robert Greene features stories about Curtis Jackson, but not in the way that one would expect。 He uses those stories as an intro into his chapters。 I must admit I was expecting to hear more about 50's life, even beyond his music。 Well, like many will or have said, the title 'by 50 cent' is a bit misleading。 Yes, Robert Greene features stories about Curtis Jackson, but not in the way that one would expect。 He uses those stories as an intro into his chapters。 I must admit I was expecting to hear more about 50's life, even beyond his music。 。。。more
